About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in the cleaning and maintenance of County facilities. This role involves identifying and reporting repair needs, performing minor repairs, and grounds maintenance including snow removal. The position may also assist with special events. Essential functions include standing, walking, crouching, and stooping for extended periods, lifting and carrying items up to 60 lbs, and frequent repetitive hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder motions for cleaning. The role requires working with and around other employees and coworkers, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, and possessing touch and finger dexterity for cleaning tasks. Environmental conditions include hazards from equipment like vacuum cleaners and buffers, and exposure to chemicals from cleaning supplies, floor and window cleaners, and wax. Atmospheric conditions may include fumes from chemicals, odors from cleaning products, office dust, and mist from spray bottles/aerosols.

Requirements

One year of custodial experience; OR any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout.
Standing, walking, crouching and stooping to perform custodial work
Lifting and carrying trash bags and storage boxes up to 60 lbs
Frequent repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbow and shoulders to clean
Working with and around other employees and coworkers
Communicating with employees and coworkers
Ability to communicate both written and verbally with co-workers
Touch and finger dexterity while cleaning
Considerable knowledge of materials, equipment, and procedures used in custodial work
Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and procedures for storing and handling hazardous materials
Ability to operate a variety of custodial and maintenance equipment
Ability to maintain a safe workplace
Ability to effectively handle lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports
Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
