About The Position

Under basic supervision, this position cleans and maintains Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center facilities according to safety rules and quality standards, keeping areas in clean and orderly condition. Duties may include cleaning snow and debris from entrances and grounds. Essential functions may include performing custodial and janitorial duties in all areas of the Recreation Center building to maintain attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities for staff and the public. This role involves cleaning floors, walls, and windows, emptying trash, cleaning sidewalks and entrance ways, and disinfecting restrooms. The position requires adherence to all safety rules and regulations, timely cleanup of spills, and reporting of hazards or equipment issues to a supervisor. It also involves supporting positive relationships with the public and staff, maintaining confidentiality, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Some related work experience is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Knowledge of County policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in cleaning.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in public facilities.
  • Skills in using basic tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Skills in following written and verbal instructions and procedures, including proper use and storage of chemicals.
  • Skills in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs custodial and janitorial duties in all areas of Recreation Center building; maintain attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities for Recreation staff and public; duties may vary according to job assignment.
  • Cleans floors, walls, and windows using manual and power equipment; empties trash receptacles; cleans sidewalks and entrance ways; cleans and disinfects restrooms; sanitizes toilets, sinks, and fixtures; restocks restroom supplies.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations and cleans up spills and unsafe conditions in a timely manner; notifies supervisor of safety hazards, equipment problems, repair and replacement needs, and emergency situations.
  • Supports the relationship between Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
