About The Position

Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Full-Time School Custodian for the second shift, working from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of the school premises. The custodian will be responsible for a wide range of duties including general cleaning, grounds maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring a secure environment for students and staff.

Requirements

Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.
Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, with a track record of excellence.
Strong sense of duty and accountability.
Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Ability to follow and enforce safety and hygiene regulations rigorously.
Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks.
Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude.
Must be able to handle push, pull, or lift weights of at least fifty (50) pounds.

Nice To Haves

Willingness to obtain a CDL supporting the transportation department as needed.

Responsibilities

Work cooperatively with the building head custodians.
Perform general cleaning tasks.
Conduct lawn care and snow removal.
Work at heights on ladders and other platforms.
Order supplies.
Handle cleaning chemicals.
Perform painting.
Conduct minor plumbing and maintenance repairs/remodel as needed with support and supervision.
Supervise areas where students are present as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee.
Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school premises.
Maintain floors, walls, windows, and surfaces with precision and care.
Ensure the orderly arrangement and proper functioning of all custodial equipment and supplies.
Inspect and secure school facilities to guarantee a safe environment for students and staff.
Execute routine maintenance tasks with unwavering dedication and punctuality.
Collaborate with school administration to enforce and enhance custodial protocols and practices.
