About The Position

Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Full-Time School Custodian for the Second Shift, working from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the school premises. The custodian will perform a variety of tasks including general cleaning, grounds maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring a secure environment for students and staff.

Requirements

Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting
Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, with a track record of excellence
Strong sense of duty and accountability
Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
Ability to follow and enforce safety and hygiene regulations rigorously
Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks
Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude
Must be able to handle push, pull, or lift weights of at least fifty (50) pounds

Nice To Haves

Willingness to obtain a CDL to support the transportation department as needed

Responsibilities

General cleaning of school facilities
Lawn care and snow removal
Working at heights on ladders and platforms
Ordering supplies
Handling cleaning chemicals
Painting
Performing minor plumbing and maintenance repairs/remodel as needed with support and supervision
Supervising areas where students are present as needed
Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Maintaining floors, walls, windows, and surfaces
Ensuring the orderly arrangement and proper functioning of custodial equipment and supplies
Inspecting and securing school facilities to guarantee a safe environment
Executing routine maintenance tasks
Collaborating with school administration to enforce and enhance custodial protocols and practices
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee
