The Custodian role involves cleaning and maintaining production equipment and machinery, ensuring all manufacturing floors are free of debris and hazards. This position is responsible for the disposal of waste materials according to safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting sustainability initiatives within the facility. Requirements

1-3 years previous custodial or janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
High proficiency in understanding industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
High proficiency in familiarity with safety and hazardous materials handling.
High proficiency in attention to detail.
High proficiency in physical stamina and dexterity.
High proficiency in ability to follow procedures and safety protocols.
Medium proficiency in understanding of cleaning chemicals and products.
Medium proficiency in ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Medium proficiency in effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Keeping equipment clean and operational for production efficiency.
Maintaining a safe and clean environment for safety and productivity.
Proper disposal of waste according to safety regulations and compliance.
Maintaining restroom cleanliness.
Ensuring cleaning supplies are available.
Performing routine inspections to prevent maintenance issues.
Reporting safety hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
Performing emergency clean-up as necessary to maintain operations.
Cleaning to 5S standards for efficient production workflows.
Participating in recycling and sustainability efforts for waste reduction and compliance.
Cleaning, dusting, and wiping furniture.
Sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming floors.
Emptying and cleaning waste baskets and trash containers.
Emptying and cleaning ash trays and cigarette urns.
Refilling restroom dispensers.
Assisting with the setup of facilities for meetings, conferences, and events.
Cleaning hard surface floors and vacuuming carpets.
Using and maintaining assigned power equipment and hand tools, extractors, and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture.
Washing walls and using ladders when required.
Unlocking and locking assigned areas of responsibility, checking for unlocked doors, reporting unauthorized occupants, and turning off lights.
Moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis, requesting assistance if needed.
Washing accessible interior and exterior windows.
Cleaning blinds.
Laundering cleaning dust mops.
Maintaining outer premises by cleaning entrances, front lot, and back lot of building docking areas of trash and debris.
