About The Position

The role involves cleaning and maintaining production equipment and machinery while ensuring all manufacturing floors are free of debris and hazards. The Custodian Manufacturing is responsible for the disposal of waste materials according to safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness, and providing support for sustainability initiatives within the facility. Keeping equipment clean and operational is critical for production efficiency. Maintaining a safe and clean environment is essential for safety and productivity. Proper disposal of waste is vital for maintaining compliance and cleanliness. Maintaining restroom cleanliness is a regular and essential task. Ensuring cleaning supplies are available helps maintain the facility's cleanliness. Routine inspections prevent larger maintenance issues from arising. Reporting safety hazards ensures a safe working environment. Emergency clean-up is necessary to maintain operations. Cleaning to 5S standards is key to efficient production workflows. Recycling and sustainability efforts are important for waste reduction and compliance. Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean waste baskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns; refill restroom dispensers. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, conferences, events, etc. Clean hard surface floors, vacuum carpets. Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, extractors, and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc. Wash walls use ladders when required in work assignments. Unlock and lock assigned areas of responsibility’s check for unlocked doors, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights. Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis get help if needed. Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. Launder cleaning dust mops. Maintain outer premises by, cleaning entrances/front lot and back lot of building docking areas of trash and debris. Some duties may vary slightly by location.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. (Preferred)
  • Understanding of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment. (High proficiency)
  • Familiarity with safety and hazardous materials handling. (High proficiency)
  • Attention to detail. (High proficiency)
  • Physical stamina and dexterity. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to follow procedures and safety protocols. (High proficiency)
  • Understanding of cleaning chemicals and products. (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. (Medium proficiency)
  • Effective communication skills. (Medium proficiency)
