About The Position

The Sanitation Operator is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, surfaces, and areas in a regulated facility to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
Must be able to clear drug screening processes, which include testing for all illegal substances per Federal Guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial, or cleaning roles preferred, preferably within a food-grade facility.

Responsibilities

Follow Standard Operating Procedures, company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and work areas according to established protocols and schedules.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitizing.
Ensure all cleaning and sanitizing tasks are completed in compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA) and company policies.
Use appropriate cleaning agents and tools safely and effectively.
Monitor and document cleaning activities, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs to the Sanitation Supervisor/Manager.
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations.
Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on sanitation practices and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Assist in keeping the buildings and grounds clean and orderly.
Maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
Follow written and/or oral instructions.
Maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
