About The Position

The Sanitation Operator is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, surfaces, and areas in a regulated facility to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
  • Must be able to clear drug screening processes, which include testing for all illegal substances per Federal Guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial, or cleaning roles preferred, preferably within a food-grade facility.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and work areas according to established protocols and schedules.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Ensure all cleaning and sanitizing tasks are completed in compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA) and company policies.
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents and tools safely and effectively.
  • Monitor and document cleaning activities, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs to the Sanitation Supervisor/Manager.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on sanitation practices and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist in keeping the buildings and grounds clean and orderly.
  • Maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
  • Follow written and/or oral instructions.
  • Maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
