About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for students and staff. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, and other school facilities, as well as performing minor repairs and groundskeeping duties as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a school or institutional setting.
Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility.
Wash windows, walls, and other surfaces as required.
Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and making basic carpentry repairs.
Assist with groundskeeping duties, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and shoveling snow.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisor.
Follow all safety regulations and procedures.
May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
