About The Position

This is a part-time evening custodial position with shifts from 3pm to 8pm, Monday through Friday, at a rate of $14 per hour. The role involves cleaning and maintaining various areas within general offices, schools, and common spaces. Responsibilities include floor care (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming), restroom sanitation, waste removal, dusting, glass cleaning, and general tidiness of common areas. Specific attention will be paid to maintaining the appearance of private offices and reception areas. The custodian will also be responsible for ensuring building security by checking locks and setting alarms before leaving. Adherence to dress code, punctuality, and professional conduct are expected.

Requirements

Report to work on time and as scheduled.
Wear identification while on duty.

Responsibilities

Sweep and/or damp mop hard surface floors.
Vacuum and spot clean carpeted floors.
Clean and sanitize restroom floors, fixtures, partitions, and tile walls.
Empty waste receptacles, replace liners, and place debris in designated areas or remove from the building.
Refill towels, tissue, hand soap, and feminine product dispensers from stock.
Sift sand urns, empty soiled sand, and refill as needed.
Dust desks, filing cabinets, bookcases, chairs, tables, and other office furniture, dusting around personal items only.
Dust windowsills, low ledges, moldings, and picture frames.
Feather dust office machines.
Clean and dry polish glass desk tops.
Clean entrance doors.
Remove smudges from partition glass.
Clean directory signs.
Provide special attention to decorative private offices and reception areas.
Clean and sanitize drinking fountains.
Damp wipe kitchen/break room tables, chairs, and appliances, and clean sinks.
Damp wipe counters in coffee service areas and clean sinks.
Use minimal lighting when working and turn off lights upon completion of service.
Keep janitorial closets neat and orderly.
Check all locks and set alarms where necessary before leaving to ensure building security.
