About The Position

This is an entry-level position suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various areas within the Polynesian Cultural Center. Students will be responsible for tasks such as sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpets, removing trash, and pressure washing specific areas. The position requires the ability to perform a full range of body movements and lift items up to 75 lbs. regularly. Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write in English and exemplify the University Honor Code.

Requirements

Must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be capable of a full range of body movement.
Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
Should have a grammar school education.
No prior work experience necessary.
Must exemplify the University Honor Code, including the dress and grooming principles and expectations.
Must attach resume and current schedule (weekly view).
All applicants must be available for an on-site interview at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, HI.
To start working at BYU–Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center, all new hires must complete the Form I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S. As part of the I-9 process, prospective employees are required to provide certain documents to prove identity and work authorization. You must bring with you the actual document. No photocopies are allowed.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors.
Vacuums and spot cleans carpets.
Removes trash from trash containers.
Removes water from walks and driveways.
Hoses down and pressure washes Pacific Pavilion, front entrance, IMAX, Concessions and Alii Luau areas, and any other walkway in assigned area(s) as needed.
