About The Position

Follett Content Solutions is hiring a part-time Custodian for its onsite facility in McHenry, Illinois. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and may become a long-term role for the right candidate. It is non-exempt and pays $17.00–$22.00 per hour. The Custodian performs cleaning and upkeep duties to keep the facility and equipment operating safely and in usable condition.

Requirements

Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuum floor scrubbers and pressure washers.
Ability to read and use cleaning chemicals safely and according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Ability to follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to lift, push, or pull 30–50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, such as cleaning gloves.

Responsibilities

Clean the main lobby and general warehouse entry areas; straighten and vacuum entrance mats as needed.
Sweep and mop break areas, sanitize lunch tables, and seasonally assemble or disassemble outdoor table umbrellas.
Stock copy paper and pick up trash and debris around the grounds.
Empty and re-line trash bins in warehouse, office, and cafeteria areas; empty exterior trash receptacles and recycling cans as needed.
Clean warehouse rear stairwell stairs and hallways.
Clean the shipping crossover bridge and warehouse eyewash stations as needed.
Sweep the exterior of Receiving and Shipping docks and all ARUs as needed.
Wipe down warehouse computer kiosks.
Clean or sweep office mechanical rooms, phone and elevator closets, and the computer room ramp as needed.
Clean shipping and receiving maintenance shop service doors as needed.
Clean lunchroom coolers monthly, including removing and cleaning shelves and cleaning the interior and exterior.
Sweep and mop forklift charging stations as needed.
Clean, dust, polish, or vacuum lobby furniture, including upholstered furniture.
Clean and disinfect office and warehouse restrooms and restock paper products and hand soap daily.
Operate custodial equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely according to Safety Data Sheets.
Follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines; maintain cleaning logs and complete assigned checklists.
Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages.
Perform other duties assigned to support facility operations.
