About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Summer Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the school building and campus during the summer months. This position supports the mission of the Catholic school by ensuring facilities are properly cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for summer activities and the upcoming school year.

Requirements

  • Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks efficiently
  • Ability to operate standard custodial equipment and cleaning tools
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeteria, gymnasium, and common areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the building
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and other surfaces
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly
  • Strip, wax, buff, and maintain floors as assigned
  • Assist with summer cleaning projects and room setup/moving as needed
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in an organized and safe manner
  • Follow proper safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly
  • Support a welcoming, respectful, and professional environment consistent with Catholic values
  • Follow all diocesan, school, health, and safety policies and procedures
