About The Position
Nativity BVM High School is accepting applications for a Part-Time Custodian to join our team. The position involves cleaning and maintaining various areas of the school, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring building security. The schedule is approximately 25 hours per week, with a preference for afternoon/evening hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Catholic school
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability appropriate for necessary mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive movements such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing (ladders etc.), reaching and twisting
- Frequent use of tools
- Will safely push, pull, lift, and/or carry light to moderately heavy objects and occasionally objects over 40 pounds safely
- Requires a sense of touch, finger dexterity, and gripping with hands and fingers
- Ability to operate equipment
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed
- Empty trash and recycling containers
- Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and activities
- Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed
- Ensure building security by locking doors and securing the facility
- Other duties as assigned
