About The Position
This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment for students and staff. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, and other school facilities, as well as performing minor repairs and groundskeeping duties as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduation or other equivalent (General Educational Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.)
- A valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
- Wash windows and other glass surfaces.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks, such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and reporting larger issues to maintenance staff.
- Assist with setting up and taking down furniture for school events and activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of school grounds, including sweeping walkways and picking up litter.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisor.
