About The Position

The custodian position will complete daily cleaning tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, taking out trash and recycling, vacuuming hallways, offices, and meeting/event spaces, and taking radio calls for cleaning assistance needed throughout the building. Tasks are also assigned on a weekly basis that include: scrubbing kitchen and entrances with an auto-scrubber, changing lightbulbs, and miscellaneous deep cleaning tasks. This position would also include maintaining outdoor entrances year-round, and snow/ice removal in the colder seasons. Custodians at Pyle center will be assisting with some production tasks dependent on events happening in the building. These tasks would include assisting in setting up classroom, dining, and event spaces based on guidance from setup and event planning staff, as well as take down and clean up after events end.

Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop and climb for the majority of the shift, including extended periods of continuous physical activities with or without an accommodation.
• Ability to lift and move supplies, equipment and material regularly up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to remove snow and ice outside during cold weather.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
• Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
• Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
• Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
• Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
• Assisting with some production tasks dependent on events happening in the building
• Assisting in setting up classroom, dining, and event spaces based on guidance from setup and event planning staff
• Take down and clean up after events end

Benefits

• Differential Weekend pay for work performed on Saturday and Sunday $.80 per hours is added.
• Differential night pay, for work performed between 6pm-6am an addition $2.50 per hour added.
