About The Position

The Part-Time Custodian performs cleaning and maintenance activities and uses appropriate methods, products, and equipment to meet acceptable cleaning standards. The position works with student employees, communicates and interacts with the University community, serves as a liaison with the Department of Public Safety, and maintains product inventory. The role engages in high-performing, leading-edge practices while valuing people, partners, and stewardship. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 20 hours per week. Pay: $15.00–$16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Understand and give verbal or written instructions.
• Read chemical, biological, or radioactive warning signs.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Remove trash, dust, vacuum, mop, and disinfect restrooms.
• Remove snow using a shovel or snow blower.
• Retain training information required for custodial methods, equipment, and products.
• Work with student employees and communicate and interact with the University community.
• Serve as a liaison with the Department of Public Safety.
• Maintain product inventory.
• Make independent decisions to accomplish acceptable cleaning standards using appropriate methods, products, and equipment.
