About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and sanitary environment at Manatee High School. The Custodian will work an 8-hour shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a school or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles.
• Clean windows and glass surfaces.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning up for school events as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, classrooms, and offices.
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
