About The Position

This position is responsible for following established cleaning methods in performing daily duties. This includes cleaning the floors, restrooms, windows, parking lots, production and dock, and dumpster areas. The Custodian will also be responsible for other housekeeping duties as directed by the Retail Operations Manager or Assistant Retail Operations Manager, including check stands. Additionally, the role involves assisting customers with carry-outs (e.g., furniture, mattresses) and removing empty clothing racks, totes, barrels, and boxes from the store to a specified area in the facility.

Requirements

Prior experience in cleaning/housekeeping preferred.
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions and perform routine and repetitive duties.
Visual acuity to detect cleanliness.
Neat appearance.
Ability to communicate clearly with customers and other Team Members.
Walking, stooping, standing, reaching 6 feet (or can with a ladder), pulling, pushing, lifting 50 pounds.
Some heavier lifting required with assistance.
Good physical stamina.
Ability to lift and carry out furniture and mattresses.
Must be able to work standing for prolonged periods of time.
Must be sufficiently mobile to work in the entire facility.
Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements.
Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.
Employees under 18 years of age are not allowed to operate hazardous equipment (compactors, balers, augers, tippers, forklifts of any kind, etc.).

Perform a variety of duties to include dry and wet mopping, wall and glass cleaning, restroom sanitation, waste removal and floor care procedures with the use of vacuum cleaners and buffers.
