About The Position
Tidewater Community College (TCC) is seeking to fill three part-time Custodian positions for the Advanced Technology Building on its Virginia Beach Campus. TCC has been a significant educational and economic force in South Hampton Roads for 50 years, serving nearly 25,000 students and being the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in the region. These custodian roles are designated as essential positions, requiring employees to report to work and fulfill responsibilities during college/campus closures due to weather or emergent conditions, including assisting with snow removal and application of snow-melt when necessary.
Requirements
- Must be able to climb a six foot ladder.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unaided.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of custodial/housekeeping services for college facilities.
- Perform tasks including, but not limited to, trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, and black/white-board cleaning.
- Provide room set-up/take-down assistance.
- Perform light bulb replacement as assigned.
- Perform other cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Maintain and demonstrate good attendance habits.
- Provide cleaning services to the colleges buildings, to include, but not limited to, daily removal of trash, mopping, dusting and sweeping, vacuuming.
- Assist in the set up and take down of special events if assigned.
- Comply with laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
- Assist in snow removal from entries and walkways and application of snow-melt when required.
