About The Position

This position performs a multitude of physical tasks for general and specialized cleaning of the Albany Capital Center. Responsibilities include cleaning all areas of the Facility, following housekeeping policies, operating various equipment such as hand power-tools, floor scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuums, and understanding the Facility layout to maximize usage. The role also involves assisting with implementing a routine preventive cleaning/maintenance program for both the interior and exterior of the Facility, and supporting other Operations tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform various physical tasks
• Knowledge of cleaning and custodial methods and techniques including the use of chemicals and equipment
• Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning and custodial methods
• Ability to perform physical labor and operate mechanical equipment
• Ability to access all areas of the Facilities
• Ability to handle a heavy workload in a hectic environment
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial experience in a similar Facility

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the Facility including, but not limited to, floors, bathrooms, walls, windows, offices, stairs, seating areas, ramps and walkways located inside and outside
• Follow policies and procedures for the housekeeping team
• Operate Facilities equipment including, but not limited to, hand power-tools, floor scrubbers, sweepers, vacuums, etc.
• Fully understand the Facility layout to maximize usage (i.e. storage, cleaning methods, etc.)
• Assist with implementing a routine preventive cleaning / maintenance program for the interior and exterior of the Facility
• Assist staff as needed in all areas of Operations, performing other tasks as assigned
