About The Position

The Custodian maintains cleanliness and hygiene standards in university buildings. Duties include vacuuming, removing trash and recycling, dusting, restroom upkeep, replacing light bulbs, and other assigned work that supports cleanliness and safety. This is an on-campus ACA variable-hour position offering a minimum of 15 hours per week. The job offer may be contingent on successful completion of a background check. The employee may work indoors and outdoors and may encounter changing temperatures, weather, hazardous conditions, and confined spaces. The position involves moderate physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; nearly continuous standing and walking; and reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting, sitting, and repetitive hand motions. Employees must follow safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.

Requirements

Reliability and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to fulfill assigned shifts reliably.
Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to carry a 25-pound vacuum for extended periods.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders and reach overhead or into high areas.
Ability to adapt to uncomfortable positions, including crawling, kneeling, and squatting.
Ability and willingness to work in confined or narrow spaces.
Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and fragrances and perform restroom cleaning.
Ability to perform nearly continuous standing and walking, as well as bending, sitting, and repetitive hand motions.
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate potential exposure to weather, temperature changes, hazardous conditions, chemicals, noise, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors.

Responsibilities
