Custodian-2nd Shift
About The Position
This position involves cleaning school building interiors and facilities, and maintaining school grounds. The role includes a variety of tasks such as sweeping, stripping, buffing, waxing, and dust mopping floors, as well as carpet cleaning. Responsibilities also extend to removing trash, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and drinking fountains, dusting furniture and woodwork, and cleaning windows. The custodian will also be responsible for maintaining school grounds by mowing grass, weed eating, removing leaves, and picking up paper and trash. Additionally, the role requires checking safety equipment like fire extinguishers and emergency lights, replacing light bulbs, moving furniture and books, changing locks, and cleaning up spills, especially after incidents involving bodily injuries. The custodian will also assist with snow removal and ice control, and report any maintenance issues to the Head Custodian or principal. This is a 2nd shift position.
Requirements
- Ability to sweep, strip, buff, wax, or dust mop floors.

- Checks fire extinguishers, emergency lights, and exit lights regularly.
- Replaces bulbs in light fixtures.
- Hauls books and paper with a hand truck.
- Moves furniture.
- Changes combination locks.
- Cleans up spills and sanitizes areas following incidents involving bodily injuries.
- Reports mechanical, electrical, or plumbing problems to the Head Custodian or principal.
- Assists with snow removal and ice control.
