About The Position

LSU Shreveport is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Custodian 1 or 2 in the Facility Services department. This role is responsible for performing routine and specialized cleaning duties to maintain campus buildings and facilities. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual who takes pride in their work and contributes to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the campus community.

Responsibilities

• Performs many varied custodial tasks necessary for the upkeep of buildings and performs custodial related duties necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned work areas or buildings.
• Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, dusting, straightening and performing general housekeeping tasks.
• Empties trash receptacles.
• Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various.
• Sweeps sidewalks, porches and other horizontal external surfaces daily or as needed to enhance the buildings appearance.
• Strips and polishes floors using buffing machines.
• Cleans and waxes floors using industrial-sized mops and/or machines that or polish hard surfaces.
• Operates wet and dry vacuums for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
