About The Position

The Custodian - Sweeper position is responsible for providing limited custodial services at an assigned elementary school site. The goal is to ensure an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning operations and assisting in preparing facilities for classroom activities and campus events.

Requirements

• Must be 14+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assists with site snow removal to ensure access and safety.
• Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
• Prepares site for daily operations (opening gates, raising flags, sweeping walkways) to ensure facilities are operational and hazard-free.
• Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies (paper towels, soap, etc.) to ensure adequate quantities for daily use.
• Secures facilities and grounds (doors, gates, alarms, lights) to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability.
• Supports other site maintenance staff (grounds, trades) to complete site custodial activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
