Supervises, directs, and coaches employees on a variety of tasks including general cleaning, floor care, and set-ups. Responsible for the overall appearance and cleanliness of the facility and grounds. Provides oversight of set-ups and break downs associated with daily events in the meeting rooms, lobbies, ballrooms, and exterior grounds. Responsible for shift duties that include cleaning lobbies, bathrooms, hallways, meeting rooms, ballrooms, and office space by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, etc. This position works Sunday through Thursday 3pm -11:30pm. A satisfactory pre-employment background check and physical are required for hire. In accordance with University Policy Statement 18, this position is considered essential and may be required to report or stay on campus in event of emergency or closure. This person must be capable of moving about in a 305,000 square foot building multiple times daily to clean and prepare ballrooms, meeting/conference rooms, lobbies, office space, and exterior sidewalks, patios, and balconies. The person must also be able to ascend and descend the stairs of a 4-story building multiple times daily and stand for extended periods during cleaning processes. They must be capable to stoop, kneel, and crouch to pick up litter, retrieve equipment, and clean restrooms, offices, lobbies, and maintain floors. This person should be capable of moving furniture that weighs 20-40 lbs or more and transport tables and chairs weighing 60-80 lbs to set-up for events throughout the building. Will use arms/hands to operate floor/power equipment used in preparing and maintaining floors. The person will work with and be exposed to common cleaning products.
