About The Position

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for a Full-Time Daytime Custodian with a shift from 6:00 am to 1:30 pm for the QUANTICO MARINE CORP BASE. This individual will also serve as a backup driver for the transportation van that travels daily from Fredericksburg to Quantico and returns in the afternoon. As a Custodian, you will perform routine maintenance for Military Base Buildings, including cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal, restroom servicing, window cleaning, and ensuring custodial closets are maintained. As the driver, you will provide backup support when the regular driver is unavailable.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) eligible.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must pass a DMV check to be in compliance with the insurance carrier.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Ability to read and mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Ability to be flexible, work at a fast pace, in a multi-tasked job, as well as be dependable and timely.
• Ability to read and follow instructions for the use of chemical cleaners and machinery.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from Quantico Marine Corp Base or a van is available.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of custodial experience is preferable but not required.
• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
• Dust, clean, and polish fixtures and furniture.
• Gather and empty trash, replace trash liners, and wipe down trash receptacles.
• Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities.
• Clean windows, mirrors, door-handles, switch-plates, and partitions.
• Ensure custodial closets are clean, orderly, stocked, and equipment is in proper working order.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notify manager of any need for repairs, damage, or additional needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Back up the regular driver for the passenger van when they are unable to drive.
