About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the buildings and grounds daily to ensure neatness and cleanliness. It also involves driving a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or to conduct business on behalf of the Salvation Army.

Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D
Six months experience performing general housekeeping/custodial duties
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read and communicate the English language.
Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing housekeeping and minor maintenance work.
Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
Ability to spend the night away from home due to extended trips.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing.
Valid Driver’s License
Must meet TSA MVR Requirements.

Experience operating and maintaining company vehicles preferred

Responsibilities

Cleans Corps building to include kitchen, classrooms, office and dining area; washes dishes; cleans and defrosts refrigerator; cleans stoves and ovens.
Assists the public in unloading and carrying donations.
Assists in performing grounds keeping work.
Provides transportation for members to and from the Corps each Sunday.
Sweeps, vacuums, mops and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks.
Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
Ensures all DOT requirements for vehicles associated with this position are met at all times.
