About The Position

GRBS is seeking a Custodian Lead to join their team at Portage Public Schools. This is a full-time position on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. The ideal candidate will be 18 years or older, possess leadership experience, a positive attitude, be a team player, customer service focused, dependable, self-motivated, hard-working, and have reliable transportation. Due to Michigan public schools requirements, individuals with theft, violence, or drug-related backgrounds will not qualify for employment. GRBS has over 100 years of experience and is committed to providing honorable and safe employment, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Train new hires on cleaning procedures
• Confirm and communicate staffing levels
• Conduct customer check-ins
• Ensure quality of work through checks, walk-downs, and daily pictures
• Secure the building
• Vacuuming
• Mopping
• Dusting
• Cleaning restrooms
• Removing trash
• Performing other cleaning tasks as assigned
