About The Position
This is a full-time position responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment by performing a wide variety of cleaning and maintenance activities on buildings. The role also involves serving as a job coach, teaching custodial job readiness skills to participants. The ideal candidate will have a servant's heart, aligning with the organization's mission and values.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
- Minimum of three (3) years of custodial experience required.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of internet and email.
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, products, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
- Ability to teach and model a high standard of cleanliness.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well alone or as a member of a team.
- Ability to train/coach participants in custodial job readiness skills.
- Time management skills.
- Completion of Trauma Informed Care training.
- Ability to solve problems through a team approach.
- Ability to work with individuals of various socio-economic, ethnic, and racial populations.
- Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
Nice To Haves
- Previous training or job coaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning operations, including light building maintenance, general repairs, and monitoring of cleaning supply inventory.
- Perform routine facility inspections to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
- Oversee the daily workflow of vocational team participants while supporting and directing participants in learning custodial skills for job readiness.
- Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others.
- Attend quarterly All Staff meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
