About The Position
ServiceMaster Facilities Maintenance is a locally owned and independently operated ServiceMaster Clean franchise providing commercial janitorial and facility support services. The company serves commercial properties including schools, offices, industrial facilities, healthcare environments, and distribution centers. The Custodian/Janitor provides routine cleaning and custodial services at an assigned customer location, maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment while following established cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and service standards. The role is full-time, first shift, Monday through Thursday, 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM. The position reports to the Service Operations Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow cleaning procedures and instructions.
- Dependability and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with routine custodial work.
Nice To Haves
- Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and other assigned areas.
- Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms.
- Empty trash and dispose of waste in designated areas.
- Clean spills and promptly address routine cleaning needs safely.
- Clean and maintain common areas, workspaces, and other assigned areas.
- Restock and organize cleaning supplies as needed.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to instructions.
- Follow established cleaning procedures, safety practices, and customer requirements.
- Complete assigned work independently and efficiently.
- Report supply needs, maintenance concerns, safety issues, or other problems to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform additional custodial duties as assigned.
