About The Position

This full-time position is located in the Facility Operations department. This position oversees staff and assigns work determining best practices, work procedures and processes that will accomplish all housekeeping tasks in a timely and thorough manner.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of custodial experience as the primary function of your job.
  • Knowledge and ability to use a personal computer is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado driver's license to independently drive company vehicles and equipment around the campus, pick up parts, etc.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete a pre-employment background check to include a motor vehicle report (MVR) as a condition of hire.
  • Must be able to follow verbal communications and be able to read and comprehend written directions.
  • Must be able to interpret written directives, policies, and memos.
  • Must be able to perform the required level of physical exertion and essential functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge/experience in proper methods to strip and re-wax hard surface flooring.
  • Knowledge of custodian chemicals and their use.
  • Proper sanitation procedures for restrooms.
  • Experience in hard floor and carpet maintenance.
  • Experience operating floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and floor buffers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual contributor; self motivated.
  • Experience utilizing MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide oversight of custodial team members
  • Conduct annual and mid-year performance evaluations
  • Manage and approve employee leave requests
  • Resolve departmental conflicts and recommend corrective actions in accordance with state policies and procedures
  • Schedule and lead weekly safety meetings and maintain attendance logs
  • Perform custodial work alongside staff as needed
  • Vacuum and extract carpets; sweep, mop, and scrub floors; strip and wax tile
  • Clean desks, windows, whiteboards, and other surfaces
  • Collect and remove trash and recycling from classrooms, offices, and public areas
  • Set up and take down tables, chairs, tents, and other equipment for events, meetings, and campus functions
  • Monitor custodial supply levels and maintain adequate stock
  • Coordinate routine ordering of approved custodial supplies via online ordering system
  • Track overall supply usage and identify irregular patterns
  • Collaborate with the Director of Events and Operations regarding supply needs
  • Receive and organize deliveries to ensure materials are available for all shifts
  • Ensure proper training and handling of custodial supplies
  • Verify staff compliance with safety protocols and procedures
