About The Position

The primary duties of Custodian III is to be assigned as a member of a Janitorial Service crew to work, supervise, lead and coordinate Custodians I & II. He/She cleans, sweeps, performs trash and recycle services, operates a snow plow to remove snow and ice, hoses down floors and stairways, replaces light bulbs, and provides other non-technical services as assigned by the Facility Care Department.

Requirements

  • Skills in operating a variety of motorized cleaning equipment such as riding sweepers, snow plows, walk-behind sweepers, mowers, and grass cutters.
  • Proficiency in utilizing manual cleaning equipment such as brooms, brushes, mops, hoses, and snow shovels.
  • Reading comprehension of safety manuals and chemical instructions.
  • Ability to write tickets for services rendered and communicate via text.
  • Must possess a valid driving license.
  • Familiarity with the Metro Politian area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate rider sweepers and walk-behind sweepers to clean garages and lots.
  • Drive trucks and trailers to provide trash and recycle services.
  • Clean litter and trash in garages and lots, clean pipes, and hose down ramps, stairways, walls, and columns.
  • Operate a snow plow to remove and clear snow and ice during the snow season.
  • Replace light bulbs and perform other non-technical services as assigned.
  • Perform tasks in a timely manner with pre-established work standards, ensuring no damage to property and equipment, and accomplishing tasks as directed by the supervisor or operations manager to ensure all service requests are completed.
  • Be responsible for accomplishing tasks within a specific geographic region, such as a specific number of locations or all locations within a given area (e.g., Washington, Maryland, and locations in Virginia).
  • Work flexible schedules including night, evening, grave, and day shifts, and assist on special assignments as needed.
  • Review, understand, and acknowledge in writing when requested, company-provided policies and procedures that directly support completing required work duties.
