About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor/Custodian to clean and maintain an assigned area within an industrial facility. This is a full-time position involving routine and heavy cleaning, use of cleaning chemicals and power equipment, upkeep of janitorial equipment and supplies, and support for facility safety and security. The custodian must be flexible and willing to complete assigned tasks, including special cleaning and support during client events as needed.

Requirements

1–3 years of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials or authorization. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required for credentials/authorization at this work location.
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Ability to perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, stretching, reaching, and wrist movements.
Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during the shift.
Ability to regularly lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
Ability to differentiate colors used in color-coded cleaning microfiber cloths and mops.
Ability to wear steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other personal protective equipment as needed.
Ability to cope with demands and stressors associated with the job and work environment.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain buildings and facilities, including performing heavy cleaning duties.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors; strip, seal, finish, and polish floors; and clean carpeted areas, including spot treatment.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures; prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Dust and wash furniture, walls, blinds, selected equipment, ceilings, light fixtures, and ceiling vents, using ladders as needed.
Remove stains from carpet, drapes or shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Gather trash and place it in appropriate trash and recycling bins.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, and similar items; clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms; clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
Keep the janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
Notify managers when minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems are needed.
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
Monitor building security and safety, including locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use for hazards.
Drive vehicles, if required, to perform cleaning or travel to other facilities; vehicles may include vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
Provide special cleaning and support during client events as needed.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
