About The Position

The Custodian position is responsible for the daily cleaning of all surfaces of the administrative offices and all public spaces in accordance with the established standards to provide an impeccably clean and safe environment for all visitors and staff. This position supports general maintenance activities inside and outside the building.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent
Skill in basic custodial techniques, including mopping, dusting, carpet cleaning, etc.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials
Knowledge of proper safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

Daily vacuuming, dusting, mopping, restroom cleaning and restocking, polishing chrome, glass and miscellaneous surfaces, general disinfecting of Museum surfaces and props.
Trash removal and general litter pick-up.
Respond to accidents as directed including mopping spills, picking up trash and materials in order to provide extraordinary customer service to Museum visitors.
High dusting and deep cleaning of public spaces and galleries using apparatus and equipment for carpet shampooing, power scrubbing bathroom and gallery surfaces, pressure washing interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
Light lawn and grounds maintenance as directed: trash pick-up, watering plants, snow removal of main entrances.
