About The Position

Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Full-Time School Custodian. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of school facilities. The custodian will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure a high standard of hygiene and order throughout the premises.

Requirements

Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting
Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, with a track record of excellence
Strong sense of duty and accountability
Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
Ability to follow and enforce safety and hygiene regulations rigorously
Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks
Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude
Must be able to handle push, pull, or lift weights of at least fifty (50) pounds

Nice To Haves

Willingness to obtain a CDL to provide support to the transportation department as needed

Responsibilities

General cleaning of school facilities
Lawn care and snow removal
Working at heights on ladders and other platforms
Ordering supplies
Handling cleaning chemicals
Painting
Performing minor plumbing and maintenance repairs/remodels as needed with support and supervision
Supervising areas where students are present as needed
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee
Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school premises
Maintaining floors, walls, windows, and surfaces with precision and care
Ensuring the orderly arrangement and proper functioning of all custodial equipment and supplies
Inspecting and securing school facilities to guarantee a safe environment for students and staff
Executing routine maintenance tasks with unwavering dedication and punctuality
Collaborating with school administration to enforce and enhance custodial protocols and practices
