About The Position
This position is responsible for light to moderate cleaning of designated school building areas; to include cleaning classrooms, school offices, restrooms, cafeterias, hallways, and other areas as assigned. Duties may include cleaning in central school facilities such as transportation, child nutrition facilities, or the central administration building.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- One (1) year of related custodial experience
- Two (2) years of customer service experience
Responsibilities
- Sweeping and dry mopping floors.
- Vacuuming carpeting; removes spots and stains.
- Washing windows and walls; dusting and polishing furniture; scrubbing and washing kitchen fixtures; cleaning blinds.
- Dusting woodwork, furniture, and other furnishings.
- Cleaning restrooms; replacing toilet paper and soap; washing and polishing bathroom fixtures.
- Picking up paper and debris in the building and on the grounds.
- Replacing light bulbs as required.
- Cleaning and mopping kitchen area.
- Folding and unfolding chairs.
- Moving furniture.
- Washing, drying, and folding table cloths and towels.
- Transporting, emptying and cleaning large trash containers into outdoor units.
- Maintaining equipment and materials used in the work.
- Locking and unlocking doors, checking the security of buildings and grounds, activating the alarm system, lowering flags.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
