About The Position
The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Custodian I. This position promotes sustainability within Dining operations including implementation and maintenance of recycling procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Six months experience working in an institutional, industrial or commercial setting preferred.
- Ability to lift 35-50 pounds.
- Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
- Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Previous custodial experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintains the appearance of offices, hallways, restrooms, and dining areas by performing housekeeping duties, such as cleaning counters, equipment and furnishings, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and removing trash.
- Wet mops, scrubs, strips, restores, buffs, and waxes floors as needed.
- Washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills, as well as any additional detailed cleaning work according to schedule.
- Handles emergency clean ups.
- Sets up chairs, tables and other equipment for meetings and events as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
