About The Position

This position is responsible for fulfilling the Colorado State University Pueblo Custodial Cleaning Standards in assigned areas. Duties include vacuuming carpets, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, cleaning various surfaces and floors, and using Universal Precautions when handling bodily fluids. The role also involves completing assigned safety and university training. Additionally, the position will be responsible for deep cleaning projects such as carpet restoration, floor stripping and waxing, wall washing, and detail cleaning of vents and fixtures. The Custodian will assist other Facilities Staff as needed, including working overtime for university functions, special events, or emergencies. Responsibilities also extend to building exterior cleaning, emptying exterior trash receptacles, and snow/ice removal from assigned entryways and sidewalks. The role requires maintaining safe walkways by spreading ice melt and providing slip protection with appropriate signage.

Requirements

Six (6) months of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
Regular Colorado Driver's License
7 year background check to include felonies, misdemeanors, and the sex-offender registry
Must be a current state of Colorado resident.
Individuals with two years of service or less in the Custodian series are preferred.

Responsibilities

Fulfill Custodial Cleaning Standards in assigned areas, including vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, removing trash, cleaning surfaces, and mopping floors.
Use Universal Precautions and sanitation procedures when handling and cleaning bodily fluids.
Complete all assigned safety and university training in a timely manner.
Perform deep cleaning projects such as carpet restoration, furniture shampooing, floor stripping and waxing, and wall washing.
Assist other Physical Plant and Custodial staff as needed, including performing other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Work overtime as needed for University functions, special events, or emergency situations.
Assist with building exterior cleaning and emptying exterior trash receptacles.
Perform snow and ice removal from assigned building entryways and sidewalks.
Spread ice melt as needed to maintain safe walkways.
Provide slip protection and appropriate signage on wet floors.
