About The Position

The Building Custodian is generally responsible for the achievement of the purposes of custodian services in the building, i.e., preserve property values, protect health and safety of occupants; support the educational objectives of the building and provide a climate of learning, develop goodwill and maintain cleanliness and neatness. This is a year-round position with specific school year and summer hours, including evening and weekend shifts. A training period is also specified.

Requirements

Physical and mental capabilities to perform the work.
Ability to understand spoken and written English.

High school diploma or GED
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

Achieve the purposes of custodian services in the building, including preserving property values, protecting health and safety of occupants, supporting educational objectives, providing a climate of learning, developing goodwill, and maintaining cleanliness and neatness.
Grounds upkeep, snow removal.
Perform all other general duties as indicated by the Principal, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, the Custodial Supervisor or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
