About The Position

Norfolk Veterans Home is seeking an individual to work in a beautiful long-term care facility and maintain high standards of sanitation required in a healthcare environment. This role involves cleaning member's rooms, restrooms, and facility offices, including walls, windows, and ceilings. The position also includes removing laundry from living areas, assisting with the delivery of clean linen and personals to resident's rooms, emptying trash containers, carpet care (vacuuming, spot removal, shampooing), and other floor cleaning duties such as mopping, buffing, and waxing when necessary.

Requirements

No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class.
Knowledge of facility standards of sanitation and cleaning procedures.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
Ability to mix cleaning solutions in proper proportions.
Ability to operate heavy commercial cleaning equipment.
Ability to move/lift up to 75 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge and cleaning experience in commercial business, hospital, medical building or long term care facility.
Experience with floor care such as: high & low speed buffers, carpet extractor, auto scrubber, and floor scrubber.

Responsibilities
