About The Position

The Head Sweeper provides custodial services at an assigned secondary school site, helping ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role performs special cleaning operations, prepares facilities for classroom activities and campus events, and oversees and supports assigned custodians to ensure work is completed safely, properly, and on time. This position is non-contract and does not include benefits. It is an eight-hour-per-day position with an hourly rate of $15.61–$19.18, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is at Pleasant Grove High. The stated available date is November 3, 2026.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Job-related experience is required.

Responsibilities

Assist with snow removal to maintain safe access to the site.
Clean assigned facilities and grounds, including classrooms, offices, gyms, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, pools, and grounds.
Deliver supplies, mail, packages, furniture, and other items to appropriate parties.
Distribute custodial supplies and equipment to custodial staff or storage locations.
Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure custodial items are available.
Oversee facility maintenance activities and assigned custodial personnel to ensure work is efficient and meets site requirements and standards.
Participate in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars to convey or gather job-related information.
Prepare the site for daily operations, including opening gates, raising flags, and sweeping walkways.
Request equipment, supplies, and materials needed to maintain availability and complete work efficiently.
Respond to immediate safety or operational concerns, such as facility damage, vandalism, or alarms, by taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel.
Secure facilities and grounds, including doors, gates, alarms, and lights.
Train assigned personnel in professional trade and safety awareness skills.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
