About The Position

The seasonal Custodian/Facilities Team Member cleans and maintains common areas at the Zumiez distribution center and processes outgoing refuse and recyclables to support building product flow. The role requires safe use of cleaning chemicals and common tools, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position is temporary and full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and overtime if needed. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The role offers a 25% discount at Zumiez stores. Interviews are virtual; candidates who receive an offer must complete an on-site drug screen.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Ability to use cleaning chemicals and common tools safely.
Ability to become certified to operate various powered and non-powered equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, leaf blowers, drills, table saws, cleaning tools, and floor scrubbers.
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally from floor to above head throughout the shift.
Ability to use hands to handle or feel product; stand or walk for up to 8–10 hours; and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, twist, and reach.
Ability to work in a warehouse with constant exposure to loud machinery and in varied indoor and outdoor temperatures.
Ability to climb and use ladders safely.

Nice To Haves

One year of janitorial, mechanical, or custodial experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Appreciation of Zumiez culture and ability to integrate well.

Responsibilities

Clean common areas throughout the distribution center, including bathrooms, lunch and kitchen areas, employee lounge, offices, walkways, aisles, and parking lot, performing routine tasks and responding to conditions as needed.
Perform maintenance duties.
Process refuse and recycling.
Perform job duties according to standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and performance standards.
Recognize issues and promptly escalate them to a supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
