Custodian - Building & Grounds
About The Position
This position is responsible for all custodial duties at the assigned building within the County. The incumbent will perform any custodial duties necessary, making sure that the building is clean and safe by the end of the day. This position is responsible for making decisions daily on the work that should be done, and who to call if there is a special project need, such as a spill on the floor. However, light bulbs or any other building issues require assistance from her supervisor. Special challenges include keeping the building clean and safe with a high level of traffic each day.
Requirements
- Requires a junior high school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that the assigned area is clean and safe for both citizens and employees.
- Cleans restrooms, dusts, vacuums, and mops floors.
- Performs any custodial duties necessary to ensure the building is clean and safe by the end of the day.
- Makes decisions daily on the work that should be done and who to call for special project needs.
- Addresses building issues that require supervisor assistance, such as light bulbs or other building issues.
