The Department of Public Works of the City of College Park, MD, is seeking our next full-time Custodial Worker. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and be on your feet for extended periods.
Reliability and punctuality
A strong work ethic and attention to detail
A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork.

Nice To Haves

Experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of offices, restrooms, break areas, and common spaces.
Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal according to a set schedule.
Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and carpet extractors.
Restock supplies like paper products, soap, and sanitizers.
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a healthy environment.
This position is considered essential in emergencies and severe weather events. Incumbents must be willing and able to work long shifts in adverse conditions.
All essential personnel may be required to report for duty on short notice or to remain on duty beyond the regular shift.
