Custodial Worker (Monday - Friday, 6:00pm - 10:00pm)
About The Position
The general custodian will be responsible for completing assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account. This includes completing all tasks in the specified allotted time and ensuring a high level of quality. The role involves sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming various areas, cleaning furniture, emptying trash, handling recycling, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, refilling restroom dispensers, and operating a power vacuum. The custodian must select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios, and use proper techniques for cleaning solutions, following all manufacturer recommendations. They will also assist with facility setups for events and follow the instructions of the Account Manager, daily job routines, and step-by-step procedures for cleaning tasks. Safety procedures for equipment operation must be followed, and any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences must be reported to the Account Manager. Maintaining a high level of cleanliness to meet customer expectations, keeping equipment and supplies orderly, and maintaining a positive work atmosphere are also key responsibilities. The role requires regular attendance and adherence to agency safety policies.

Responsibilities

- Ensure a high level of quality in all tasks performed.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office space.
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
- Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns.
- Handle recycling materials.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize bathrooms.
- Refill restroom dispensers.
- Operate a power vacuum.
- Select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios, and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.
- Follow all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
- Properly stock cart.
- Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Follow all instructions of the Account Manager.
- Follow the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.
- Use the correct step-by-step procedures for each cleaning task.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
- Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
- Ensure a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.
- Maintain all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion.
- Regular attendance.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
- Responsible for following agency safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
