Custodial Worker - Wayne County (Monday - Friday 5:00pm-9:00pm)
About The Position
The general custodian will be responsible for completing assigned custodial job duties and basic grounds maintenance. This includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming common areas, cleaning and dusting surfaces, emptying wastebaskets, handling recycling materials, and cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms. The role also involves refilling restroom dispensers, using proper chemicals and techniques, and following manufacturer recommendations. Grounds maintenance includes mowing grass, picking up sticks, trash removal, and snow removal from sidewalks with salting as necessary. The custodian must follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and inform the Account Manager of any malfunctions or unusual occurrences. Regular attendance and maintaining a positive work atmosphere are also required.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by site.
- To be eligible for hire, all application questions must be completed and the application must be signed.

- Previous custodial experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums common areas.
- Clean, dust, and wipe surfaces.
- Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns.
- Handle recycling materials.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs and sanitizes bathrooms.
- Refill restroom dispensers.
- Select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.
- Follow all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
- Grounds maintenance including using a riding mower to cut grass, pick up sticks, and trash removal.
- Remove snow from sidewalks and salt as necessary.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
- Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
- Regular attendance.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
