Custodial Worker - Wayne County (Monday - Friday 5:00pm-9:00pm)
About The Position
The general custodian will be responsible for completing assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account, including basic grounds maintenance. This role requires completing all tasks in the specified allotted time while ensuring a high level of quality. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming common areas, cleaning and dusting surfaces, emptying wastebaskets, handling recycling materials, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, and refilling restroom dispensers. The position also involves grounds maintenance such as mowing grass, picking up sticks, trash removal, and snow removal from sidewalks with salting as necessary. The custodian must follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and report any malfunctions or unusual occurrences to the Account Manager. Regular attendance and maintaining a positive work atmosphere are also expected.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by site.
- To be eligible for hire, all application questions must be completed and the application must be signed.

Responsibilities
- Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
- Complete all tasks assigned in the specified allotted time and ensure a high level of quality.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum common areas.
- Clean, dust, and wipe surfaces.
- Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns.
- Handle recycling materials.
- Sweep, mop, scrub and sanitize bathrooms.
- Refill restroom dispensers.
- Select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.
- Follow all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
- Grounds maintenance including using a riding mower to cut grass, pick up sticks, and trash removal.
- Remove snow from sidewalks and salt as necessary.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
- Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
- Regular attendance.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
