Custodial Worker - Elyria (Monday - Friday, 5:00pm - 7:00pm)
About The Position
The general custodian will be responsible for completing assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account. This role requires completing all tasks in the specified allotted time while ensuring a high level of quality. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming various areas, cleaning and dusting furniture, emptying trash, handling recycling, sanitizing bathrooms, refilling restroom dispensers, and operating power vacuums. The custodian must select and use proper chemicals with correct dilution ratios and techniques, follow manufacturer recommendations, and properly stock their cart. They will also assist with setting up facilities for events and follow all instructions from the Account Manager, including daily job routines and step-by-step cleaning procedures. Safety procedures for equipment operation must be followed, and any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences must be reported to the Account Manager. The role requires maintaining a level of cleanliness that meets customer expectations, keeping equipment and supplies orderly, and ensuring regular attendance. A positive work atmosphere must be maintained through positive communication and behavior with all stakeholders. Adherence to agency safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
- Complete all tasks assigned in the specified allotted time and ensure a high level of quality.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office space.
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
- Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns.
- Handle recycling materials.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize bathrooms.
- Refill restroom dispensers.
- Operate a power vacuum.
- Select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios, and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.
- Follow all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
- Properly stock cart.
- Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Follow all instructions of the Account Manager.
- Follow the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.
- Use the correct step-by-step procedures for each cleaning task.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
- Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
- Ensure a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.
- Maintain all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion.
- Regular attendance.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
- Responsible for following agency safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
