About The Position

Vocational Guidance Services (VGS) is hiring a Custodial Worker for a federal building contract in downtown Cleveland. VGS is a non-profit vocational rehabilitation agency with over 135 years of experience serving individuals with disabilities or other employment barriers. This role involves completing assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account, ensuring high quality and timely completion of tasks. The position requires regular attendance, maintaining a positive work atmosphere, and adhering to agency safety policies.

Requirements

Must be able to pass federal clearance process.
Must present a Real ID (indicated by a star at the top of ID) to begin the federal clearance process.
Answer all questions on the application, sign and submit the application to be considered for hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial experience preferred.
High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
Ensure all tasks are completed within the specified allotted time and maintain a high level of quality.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office space.
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers, as well as ashtrays and cigarette urns.
Handle recycling materials.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize bathrooms.
Refill restroom dispensers.
Operate a power vacuum.
Select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios, and use proper cleaning techniques.
Follow all manufacturer recommendations for cleaning solutions.
Properly stock the cleaning cart.
Assist with setting up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
Follow all instructions from the Account Manager.
Follow the daily job routine in the outlined order.
Use correct step-by-step procedures for each cleaning task.
Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences.
Ensure a level of cleanliness that meets customer quality expectations.
Maintain all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion.
Assist with snow removal.
Maintain regular attendance.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating positively with others.
Follow agency safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
