About The Position

The Custodial Worker 1 at Torrance State Hospital cleans and maintains areas throughout the facility to help provide a safe, pleasant, and comfortable environment for patients and staff. This limited-term, full-time position is scheduled for 6 to 11 months. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday through Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. The position follows a rotating weekend pattern, requiring work approximately every fourth weekend, with assigned days off during the week. Telework is not available.

Requirements

• Be able to perform the essential job functions.
• Undergo a medical examination following a conditional offer of employment.
• Submit satisfactory criminal history reports, including Pennsylvania State Police and FBI clearances, following a conditional offer of employment.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, hallways, patient areas, dining rooms, offices, and other assigned spaces.
• Wash windows, walls, lights, and ceilings.
• Maintain floors by stripping and waxing them.
• Operate housekeeping tools and equipment.
• Perform lifting and ladder work as needed.
• Empty indoor and outdoor receptacles and keep areas free of debris.
• Unpack and distribute linens as required.
• Complete daily documentation of tasks.
